Programs & Events

The library participated in the OACAC School Readiness Fair in August!

106 children signed up and checked out 3,136 books during June and July.  All participants received various gift certificates from several local businesses when they turned in completed reading sheets.  Children who completed all 5 sheets received book bags from the library and had their names placed in a drawing for the grand prizes in three age groups.  Kyle Meyer received an Explore & Write Activity Desk for interactive learning.  Emma Appleby and Jeremiah Sutton both received Tablets!

The library staff and board would like to thank the following businesses for donating prizes:  Hip Pocket Pizza, McDonalds, Dairy Queen, Sonic, and Casey's.  The Buffalo United Methodist Church allowed the library to hold the July 18 program in the church family center.  Program presenters included Marty Hahne the Reading Magician, herpetologist Shawn Christ, and Sherry Pyles with Christine Weigel from Buffalo Assembly of God.  Thank you to the parents and grandparents who helped their children to participate by borrowing books and attending the special programs!

Children just completing 5th grade, and younger, could participate.  There were Thursday morning programs and lots of prizes for reading your favorite books!
