Friends of the Library
Friends of the Library are a nonprofit group that supports the library by selling used books to fund for more new books in the library. They meet on the first Saturday of every month for a business meeting & book discussion, unless by chance it is a holiday. The meeting will be held in the white house next to the library, and the annual dues are $5.00. The book club goes on to discuss about the monthly books that are available to pickup at the library. Participants do not have to be a Friends of the Library member to participate, just talk with the others at the meeting and come over and get the book for the month.
The bookstore is open from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursdays, and 9:00 a.m. to noon every Saturday. There is a large selection of gently used hardback and paperback books, audio and video tapes and puzzles and more! Stock is updated frequently so there are always many new items to choose from. Volunteers are available to answer questions and assist in finding materials. All the proceeds benefit the Dallas County Library.
